Classic Two (2) Slice Toaster
Several years ago, we downsized to a two slice toaster since our children had left for college. My husband and I simply did not require 4 slices of bread every time we wanted toast, a bagel or a sandwich. Since it is pretty quick to make two slices of toast, it really is more convenient for us to have the smaller size. Plus, we save room on the counter. I have been extremely pleased with the T-Fal Avante Toaster we selected.
Since our specific toaster is no longer easily available, I will list the things I like about our toaster to use as a checklist for selecting a comparable toaster. I will also share the recommended 2 slice toasters that should work just as well in the kitchen. However, if you can find the T-Fal Avante, I would recommend it first.

The only thing that I am not completely thrilled about is cleaning. It does have a crumb door on the bottom, but a lot of the crumbs don’t fall under the panel that holds the bread. I end up having to carry the it to the sink and turning it upside down to dump the crumbs. Since I have never found a toaster that was truly easy to clean, I don’t consider that a serious flaw in the design. Especially since the toaster is fairly lightweight.
